a good keyboard is worth more than couple of bucks, it is not exchangable with money only a better design can replace it, and thats hard to come by. You may have a pair of shoe you wore many times over that fits you extremely well, you can't just buy any shoe of the same price to replace it.

Has the thought of purchasing a new $5-$10 keyboard ever crossed your mind? The time it takes to take apart, clean, and reassemble the keyboard is not worth $5.00, if you ask me.

They are not designed to be cleaned, because they are so cheap! Mice too. In fact, I saw what looked to be a decent mouse at a dollar store! Next time, I go there I will pick one up, just to test it. If i remember correctly, it even had a scroller. I didn't see a keyboard, but I did see a USB 2.0 cable (wow) for $1.00. That's cheaper than eBay!

Big Lots and Wal-Mart have keyboards for $5.00.

Perhaps I will stock up on keyboards and mice!

I followed your instructions "As for the keyboard base, be sure you remove the circuit board and drop it in the sink".

I removed the circuit board and dropped it (the circuit board) in the sink of hot water. It was still connected to the cord and it made a hissing noise and the computer started flashing error messages and stopped working.

Do you think I should have used cold water.
